Discover the western part of the Lycian Way in spring : from 10 to 13 day hike through forests and along the southern coast of Turkey. Enjoy beautiful secluded beaches and visit several ancient cities while learning about the history of the Lycian Empire.

And also take the opportunity to extend the pleasure of visiting the incredible Turkey with our additional option in Marmaris, which will allow you to visit one of the popular cities of the Turkish Mediterranean coast and relax with its many terraces and clubs as well than to continue to visit other historic sites around.

Meeting of the group at the Otogar Antalya bus station at 9am (we recommend arriving in Antalya the day before to rest) then departure to Demre (about 2h20 drive). We will visit the ancient city and the necropolis of Myra - the Church of Saint Nicolas - and the ancient city of Andriake and its museum.

The trek continues towards the village of Kekova. We will follow the coast to settle a little upstream of the village. During this day, we will cross an ancient Lycian city, where we will be able to observe typical tombs of the Lycian empire. We will also be able to swim on the different beaches that we will meet during the day in order to refresh ourselves.

Today we head to Aperlai. We will take a 4 - 5 hour boat trip from Kekova to Aperlai with lunch on board, consisting of freshly caught fish and Turkish snacks. Along the way, we will stop at Simena, a medieval town that you can explore on your own. We will enjoy the view of the ancient part of the Lycian city engulfed by an earthquake and several coves, with the possibility of swimming and snorkelling. It will be a day of relaxation before the next hard day of walking.

Near our base camp 3 we will have the opportunity to visit the necropolis of Aperlaia.

Today we get up very early and start at 7 am. The trek will continue throughout the day, ending at Üzüm İskelesi beach (ideal beach for snorkeling (equipment not provided) - snorkeling shoes recommended - very steep and rocky beach). During the day we will pass another small ancient town called Apollonia.

Today we will get up early again for an active all-day hike to the town of Kaş. We will cross fields of olive trees and steep passages along the coast. Weather permitting, we will cross the Gulf of Kaş by boat, otherwise we will have to follow a very steep via ferrata course.

Transfer to the ancient city of Patara and visit the city, and the beach of Patara with amazing dunes by the sea, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea - then transfer to the next camp in the village of Gay.

We get up early and leave around 7am with active trekking all day. We will walk along the coast with steep passages and make a few stops for swimming again. We will finish our day at Paradise Beach in an authentic campsite on the mountains. At the end of the day, we will take the opportunity to swim on a heavenly beach or relax over tea and a game of cards.

As usual, we will start early and walk actively to the Butterfly Valley. We will cross new steep passages along the coast and in the hinterland. We will stop along the way to take a rest and a drink or to lunch at the Kabak Valley resort. We can enjoy the sunset over the Butterfly Valley.

In order to take advantage of the day, we will start early, and begin the morning with a radial excursion to the Butterfly Valley with descending to the beach on the route with via ferrata at least three points. We will go up by the same path and head towards the seaside resort of Ölüdeniz.

Unfortunately, it is time for us to say goodbye, and participants who did not choose the Marmaris option will enjoy this morning in Ölüdeniz and then, around 10:00 am, will return by bus to Antalya at Otogar bus station in (2h 40m drive).

We advise you to take advantage of your stay in Antalya to visit its attractions - a waterfall, an Aquarium, the old town and its port.

For people who have taken this option, we will drive to Dalyan (to observe its necropolis there), then we will cross the river by ferry and go to Kaunos for visiting the ancient city. Finally, we will follow Lake Köyceğiz for several kilometers before reaching Marmaris.

We will get up early to take advantage of this new day and reach the tip of Knidos by car, for visiting the ancient city. On the way back, we will stop in Datça, a very popular fishing village and on the beach of Kız Kumu to walk in the water over long distance. Returning to Marmaris in the evening.

A long day awaits us, we have to reach Pamukkale. We will have to get up early and our backpacks will have to be ready the day before so as not to waste time. Indeed, we have 210 km to go to reach Pamukkale. There we can visit the ancient city of Hierapolis where the swimming pool of Cleopatra is located.

Below the ancient city are the famous thermal pools of Pamukkale, as they are natural pools formed by limestone deposits in the open air. You can either swim in Cleopatra's swimming pool (entrance fee) or in the pools or take advantage of your free time to do paragliding.

About 236 km separate us from Antalya, as we will return late evening, so to be sure plan your hotel in Antalya in advance and taking an account these conditions.

Terms of sale of travel

Applications for participation are accepted until 27/04. The minimum quantity to confirm the group is 5 people, maximum is 15 people.

Notes and instructions :

Equipment :

Each participant travels with his bivouac equipment (tent, mattress, sleeping bag, camera, personal belongings) and carries all things by himself. Please do not forget to leave a place for personal provisions and water, which we will provide at the beginning of the trip.

For tourists who want to get off the route (specify in advance) or who are unable to complete the entire route, it is possible to return from Kaş or Patara. In this case, the transfer fee is paid additionally. Let us know in advance to arrange a transfer for you if it necessary.

Also, with a sufficient number of people willing, it is possible to organize the transfer of backpacks on difficult areas and, accordingly, the passage of the route in a light mode (water, snacks).

Rest in the camp :

We advise you to take a swimsuit to relax in the Mediterranean Sea or take a dip in the river along the way.

We will teach you an interesting card game that we play while traveling - it is very exciting and allows you to set up communication between participants.
